Ugandan vocalist Samite coos and chants his way through ten warmly charming songs on Kambu Angels. Accompanied by kalimba (finger piano), sparse percussion, and layer upon layer of his own voice, Samite evokes traditional African folk music in a soothing and embracing manner. While his previous albums have had a fuller sound, this gentle intimacy serves his tender voice even better.
